SPECIES AT RISKThe Sydenham River is truly a biological treasure. 82 species of fish and 34 species of mussels are found here. Many of these species are rare in Canada and 14 are listed as endangered, threatened or of special concern. These endangered species are like "canaries in a coal mine." If they are disappearing, then we know the water is not clean.
